There are 78 cards in a Tarot deck. 22 of those cards make up the Major Arcana, the trump cards with which people are most familiar. First among these cards comes the Fool and, as he isn't numbered like all the rest of his fellows, he falls at the end of their sequence as well.
I've heard it said that the Major Arcana tells the story of a man's life, each card representing a step forward as he grows and matures. The Fool, following suit with his placement in the order of cards, serves as the starting point from which the man's life begins and the reincarnation that follows his death. That is what I've heard anyhow.
But so, as this is the start of my own journey and taking into consideration just who and what I am, I feel it's fitting I take his name.
~Until we meet again.
